Old wars.

Crazy hundreds of years later some people want to still fight those wars.

DNA study that was done by an English University to trace Viking DNA throughout these islands found little Scandinavian DNA in Ireland except around certain parts of Dublin. More interestingly (I think) was that it found as a coincidental finding, that there is no way of identifying so-called “native Irish” from planters invaders or whatever you want to call them. We have simply interbred so much among ourselves that we are all the same. It is pointless fighting. One person’s history is everyone’s history.

Sadly in your general area of the island the traces of the old wars are still having effects, down to the present day. Even to including whether that local assembly ever gets up and running again.
The volcano may appear dormant, but the magma is still bubbling under the surface.

A butterfly that flapped its wings in Africa hunderds of years ago also affected Irish history but that is another story.....

A butterfly that flapped its wings in Europe at the same time, had a far bigger effect as it blew thousands of European colonisers all over the place, to Africa, India, Ireland, the America's, Australia, Siberia, Polynesia, etc etc.
