Gardaí raided a house in Letterkenny at the weekend after a long-running investigation into a brothel being run there.

And one Romanian arrested at the house had an outstanding arrest warrant in Co Kerry, Letterkenny District Court heard yesterday.
Daniella Ioniata, (28), of Court House Manor, Letterkenny, one of three people detained in the garda raid.

She was charged with aiding or assisting in the operation of a brothel.
Daniele Costache, (19), of no fixed abode, and a man, Florian Nica, (36), of Sanefield Court, Ennis, Co Clare, were charged with the same offence.

Judge Paul Kelly was told the three were detained at a house off Justice Walsh Road just after 8.30pm on Saturday.
A Co Donegal man (73) who was in bed with Ionita was questioned.

Gda Det Peter Cullen told Judge Paul Kelly that when she was charged Ionata had replied: “Yes I was working there, but not the owner of the house.”
The detective said there was an outstanding warrant for Ionita’s arrest for a similar offence in Tralee, Co Kerry, from February 17 this year.

She was released on €500 bail, while the other defendants were given the Probation Act.
She is due to appear at Tralee District Court tomorrow (wed).

The judge ordered the seizure of cash including €810 and Stg£120.
The defendants’ solicitor Patsy Gallagher said the women were from “an extremely poor” area of Romania where the average weekly wage was €50. He insisted the women were not part of an organised prostitution ring.

Gardaí say customers travelled from all over the North West to the house including from Sligo and Coleraine in County Derry. Other men interviewed by gardaí as part of their investigations were from west Donegal including Ardara and Dungloe.
Under current legislation brothel customers cannot be detained for any offence.

I suspect what happens is that the cops pressure the girl to “own up” “confess” etc.
Cops get a conviction, they are happy, the girl gets fined, deported or whatever, but later she returns to her work and she is (reasonably) happy and so it continues.
Cops do pressurise but have the hard work done before even entering the building and they got eyes so if there are 2-4 girls there with thousands of euro, 7-8 phones and loads wipes and condoms then even Mr Bean could work it out and as we all know most escorts do share.
As for the client he is ok at present(Rep of Ireland) and will be let go after his details are taken down and will only be contacted if they have difficulties with the case

they will come down very hard on the escort the next time she is caught escorting from shared accommodation but it does depend on the judge she gets
