I never can understand the entitlement that people have here. How can they expect the business that is ei to prioritise anonymous freeloader users over those that pay a fortune for the privilege of being here?

Sure no system could be perfect, but come on its not a difficult thing to figure out why certain rules are in place.

come on will you, others sites dont have these rules and are doing great business, it is all about give and take, the thing is other site welcome advice and act on it while E-I welcome advice and don't.

Not all advertisers use the forums. how they can defend themselves if they don't even see the posts?

too many times we had an insincere review created only to damage someone's business, how would we verify the intention of the poster here too?
it is just too easy to open an anonymous account and bad mouth an individual.

If you really want to warn fellow users, there is a way to do it. yes, via PMs.
If someone comes here to damage someone's business, we will not facilitate it by posting this content in public.

However some Mods implement this rule in the extreme,

I opened a thread which involved a reviewer of an escort who's name was not mentioned.

10 posts in when I mentioned the escort by name - the thread was deleted.

When the sensible thing would have been to blank out the name with Xs and leave the remainder of the thread intact.

Does not encourage genuine posters

There are loads of ranters & ravers on here who get away time & time again posting shxte.

A number of threads I just read the first page & stop there because of the shxte.

we have stats, but why would you make an assumption that most of the advertisers on E-I read the forums? this is inaccurate.

with regards to the why question - I explained it in my posts above.
no one will come here and make anonymous claims that could damage someone else's business. simple as.
if you have good intentions you will find it useful as it is.
those who do not have good intentions, will be stopped / filtered here.
