If there was only one way to work and it was like the article then I would have likely have sorted out my financial problems in a much different way, which would have impacted on my family in a negative way. I'm so glad that I had the chance to work in both the UK and Ireland and deal with things in a way where my family didn't suffer and I was not exposed to situations that personally I would have found degrading and out of my personal comfort zone.
