It would be foolish to assume that the Gardai won't be all over this new law when it's introduced. We can talk all we want about denying the act, and how it will be difficult for the Gardai to prove a transaction took place, but let's be honest here, the Gardai aren't the big thickos we see in Father Ted or D'unbelievables, they know exactly what they're doing and are trained to put pressure on a suspect until he or she folds.
I for one will be quitting punting when the law is in. I just couldn't be bothered having to take such a risk every time, and not to mention the consequences of employers finding out. You will always be known as the guy who got caught with a prostitute. It's a sad state of affairs that there is less condemnation in being caught with a load of drugs than being caught paying for a service from a consenting adult that is 100% legal if done for free.
