Democracy isn't looking too good on any front at the moment, is it? Some would say we're one comb over away from that police state.

He'll probably combine his user names and return as 'Dirty Ass'.

Some would say(maybe Even the Stig himself) that incipient police states are already developing in our so-called, kind of democracies.
No one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition. Might is right usually asserts itself in one form or another, since the time one bozo recognised he might be slightly more powerful than the bozo next door.

Democracy is too open to abuse in its present form, it can't last.

'And then the Romans came'. Can't remember who said that but for some reason it's what springs to mind more and more often when I look at what's going on state side.

Insightful commentary from Rachel Maddow, which speaks to your point, I think. Sorry to Cassandra, this is a diversion from the op!

Despite Lu's best efforts to gather feedback and pass it on, the Dev Team continue to stumble from one untested bad idea to another.

Until the last few days I found it usable on my phone when I selected Desktop Mode. It now seems to revert to the mobile site every few clicks, making it pretty much unusable on my phone.

I am still using the old desktop mode with no problem.
The new mobile version is manageable too, maybe takes just marginally longer to load.
