*Darlings, buy organic if you can. Organic is best for all fruits and veggies.*

In a soup pot, fill it half full of good clean water, and put on a low heat.
Take 4 red potatoes and peel with a really good peeler (please watch your fingers to not cut them).
Cut potatoes in little chunks - the size of a cherry or smaller.
Put those little chunks in the water that's in the soup pot.
Turn your stove-top burner on low heat. The cooking has now begun

Now for the celery, two beautiful celeries with no mushy parts to it, just nice and crisp
Wash the celery to clean off any leftover garden dirt, making sure its squeaky clean (yes, do the squeak test)
Cut that celery stalk all the way up the length of it. Then cut the width of it over and over and over again, up the stalk, till you get lots of little celery bits (size of half a cherry or smaller). Put those little celery chunks in the water that's in the soup pot on a low heat with all those little potato chunks.

Now for the garlic. Forget the onion, it will make you fart!!! Garlic also will help you fight off a cold or flu or other sick problems that make you miserable feeling.... Yes garlic, take 3 cloves of garlic and peel off their robes. Try not to get too excited when they are naked, and their smooth white skin looks so tempting to nibble on.... (sorry got sidetracked, thats what happens to horny cooks).... take those cloves of garlic and cut them in really tiny little pieces (about the size of a blade of grass). Toss those garlic blades into the water that's in the soup pot on a low heat with all those little celery and potato chunks.

Now turn heat up to medium. Keep checking potato with a fork, till the fork goes straight thru the potato and its a bit of a mash consistency. Now... your soup is done (add your spice at this point if you want a chunky soup)... unless you are a fancy cook like me, and you transport your soup to the blender, the blessed blender (I love my blender). I have a PUREE setting, and makes the soup so beautiful that way. You can add spices to puree at this point.

Now for your spices. This is where you let your personality take over your soup. Are you hot and spicey? Are you bland and dull? Are you a bit of both? Do you need some comfort in your life?
-Milk or butter is good for comforting. I always use goat milk & butter, as its easy to digest and very low fat.
-Chili Pepper is good if you are feeling cold or if you want extra passion
-black pepper is healthy and nice tasting, and warms you up, good for the heart
-Sea Salt is healthy salt. We all love a bit of salt
-Cilantro is a beautiful herb. I love it to bits!

*If your soup grows a bit cold while blending and adding spices, just transport back into the soup bowl and quickly heat up. Never use a microwave, or else you will mutate the molecules of the foods and pretty much fuck out the goodness of it. Always use a stove top (0r oven for other types of cooking), to get the most health benefits from your food.

Dolly Darling's Delicious Potato Soup is an original recipe by Dolly Darling. Happy to share her own original recipe with her E-I friends.

    "Bon Appetite!!!
some wild rocket at the very end when your puree'ing the soup would relly set it off

Thumbs up Potato Soup CURES MIGRAINES!!!

Ok, so this Dolly gets Migraines often, but has found certain things to prevent them and certain things to bring them on. Well on Sunday I had a horrible migraine all day, and drank buckets of green tea (a cure for migraines) and so what usually lasts 3 days (average duration of migraine attacks), only lasted 12 hours. I got up out of bed and guess what I was just dying to eat?

    A FECK'N POTATO

So thats how I created Dolly Darling's Delicious Potato Soup

    Now for a potato update.......
Monday night, I was dying to eat more potato soup, but looked in my fridgerator and saw all those Rasberries tempting to rot, so I ate those instead... and ffs the migraine came on me again. All day today I was with a throbbing head, all because I didnt eat a potato! So you can bet your arses that tonight I made more of the Dolly Darling's Delicious Potato Soup, and of course the Corn on the Cob and some goat butter... the same thing I had Sunday night ( I added cilantro to the soup this time and its much better then last time)... and just like magic, my migraine left me!

    JUST LIKE THAT
JUST LIKE THAT THE POTATO CURED ME!

So, it does seem that the dearly beloved POTATO is a cure for migraines. And corn on the cob and goat butter is migraine friendly (means migraine sufferers can eat the corn on cob during an attack, and it wont make the migraine worse).

I'm so happy!! I think I will eat potatoes everyday for the rest of my life.

So definitely GIVE ME MORE IDEAS on different ways of making a lovely potato soup. Im sure Ill want some varieties.

Default What's wrong with oxtail ?

That sounds delicious Dotty but I'd much prefer a nice bowl of Knor Oxtail me. It's a bit tricky now, so read carefully.
    Pop kettle on
Get bowl out & be sure to give it a bit of a rub, not nice having remnants in there !
When kettle boils open pack & tip, very carefully, no jerky motions now, into bowl.
Add desired & reccomended amount of boiling water to oxtail mix & stir.
stir in an anti-clockwise direction, this is very important to get the correct consistency.
Test & add salt or pepper as required.
Allow to cool a little & tuck in !
For the more exuberant & flahoolack among you try a nice fresh bread role, well buttered.

Bet that has some of you salivating.

Unhappy Aww no mixes allowed here

Gotta make fresh soup on this thread. Nads get out your apron and clear the counter, and make that soup from fresh ingrediants.

If Mari heard you were cooking from a packet mix, he would say "mixes are gay".

Get creative Nads. I know you can make some lovely fresh soup and name it after yourself "The Nads Nutricious Ox Tail Soup". That would be a marvelous thing, simply marvelous darling.
