Most of these Professional Footballers are arrogant cunts thinking they can do what they want.

I think the club he played for and all the other clubs have questions to answer regarding this, why you might ask. Ok here's why.

You have teams of men, young men with shit loads of money and the world at there feet, when you have groups of men together we turn into 15 year olds, the clubs should be advising them on at least a monthly basis about the dangers, risks, scams that are out there, I'm not defending for one minute what this guy done, he took advantage of a underage fan that was crazy about him, this guy 27 should of knowing better but he didn't he took the risk and he's now paying dearly for it and his life is ruined. The girl 15 I think she will get over it, as was pointed out in an earlier reply a lot of 15 year olds are sexually active. I know when I was that age everyone was at it like rabbits and iv seen many of the girls back then gladly jump into cars with guys almost twice there age off for a "spin" in there boy racer cars none of them are on the sex offenders list.

On most high risk jobs you have SPA's (safe plan of action) the same principle should be applied to the clubs and players, keeps it fresh in the mind, talk about the risk and plan to avoid them.

When I was In collage I remember one lecture telling us, because my line of work would involve working in people's houses, he said to us "never stay in a house with an underage person if the mother was to say "I'm just heading to the shop for some bread I'll be back in a sec" and there was an underage person left in the house. What if that underage person was getting out of the shower or something and you happened to be working out side the shower room door, they come walking out, towel falls off, you see everything, next thing mammy comes in and shit hits the fan. It's that simple for something like that to escalate.

If you're male or even female, the law is the same both sides.

If you are paying for sex with anybody under the age of 18, you are breaking the law.

Many children (not all) do look older than they are, but it doesn't matter how old they look or how mature they may act.
If you are caught doing anything with an underaged child, you are breaking the law, it is as simple as that.

The footballer knew the age and was caught out, simple as that.

Many of us are sexualy active at the age of 15, some younger unfortunately, but it doesn't give anybody the rights to sleep with an underaged child.
the age of consent is 17 in ireland.

There is a lot of rationalisation going on here in this thread. Yes he was thinking with his little head, but that's nothing a good wank wouldn't bring one around to their senses!!

I doubt there would be same empathy for the guy had he being in his 40's or 50's.

He could have had his pick of beautiful women, yet he's fooling around with a teen on whatspp & snapchat. Its my guess he's one of those people who are never happy no matter what they have, or maybe a adrenaline junkie. Either way he deserves to be jailed.

I would however fear for his safety, because he's not going to get it easy in jail.

to add to that, when you are famous you have to be extra careful in public. for example if i were famous and looking for sex i wouldnt be going into nightclubs/bars etc. i would either form a relationship or visit an escort

I would image the stigma attached to sleeping with escorts would do more damage to ones career that picking up a girl in a club and have the inevitable kiss and tell in the sun the following week.
Now before everyone jumps down my throat about this is not my own opinion, but merely my perceive opinion of general narrow minded public.

Pick the wrong woman and it's quickly learned that escorts are cheaper.

This country is fucked up in this regard.

I agree with most of what you say but at 27 it's a bit lame to pass accountability to the club. This lack of personal accountability is everywhere nowadays.
I'd say the last year has been no picnic for the girl either and she will probably have to move at some point if she wants a normal life

I think it's18 for purchasing sexual favours. That's what got Benzema and Ribery in trouble.
