    Still plenty of holes to play today and tomorow but if Mickelson does go on to win the US PGA he would be the oldest ever Major champion just a month short of fhis 51st birthday. I believe he would also be the 1st golfer who has dropped out of the top 100 in the world rankings to win a Major.

    At the end of the 3rd round Mickelson leads by 1 shot on -7 fom Koepka. Oosthuizen is on -5 and there are 12 golfers under par. Paul Casey is the highest placed European golfer on -1. Lowry and Harrington are both on +1 while McIllroy is on +5 and having yet another disappointing Major tournament.
