Final round of games in La Liga this evening. Champions Real Madrid finished their League season with a 2-2 draw against Leganes finishing 5 points clear of Barcelona who thrashed Alaves 5-0, Atlletico Madrid drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad to finish in 3rd place ahead of Sevilla who beat Valencia 1-0. Those 4 clubs take the CL places for next season. Villarreal, Sociedad and Granada qualify for the EL while Espanyol, Mallorca and Leganes are relegated. Lionel Messi won the La Liga Golden Boot award for the 4th season in a row and the 7th in total with 25 goals which included 2 today.

Yes, Celta just about survive as Leganes failed to get a winner against a second string Madrid. Getafe were also cheated out of a EL place with several questionable decisions stopping them from winning and keeping Granada above them. In Serie A tonight Juventus beat Lazio 2-1 with Ronaldo scoring both goals one from the penalty spot. This result puts Juve 8 points clear of Inter Milan with 4 games of the season still to play. Lazio stay in 4th place 2 points behind Atalanta.

In Serie A this evening Atalanta beat Bologna 1-0 which moves them up to 2nd place in the table and within 6 points of Juventus though with a game more played and AC Milan beat Sassuolo 2-1 which moves them up to 5th and guarantees them a EL place next season. Roma in 6th place are now also guaranteed at least a EL place and still have a remote chance of finishing in the top 4.

Chris Hughton In talks with Bristol City to replace Lee Johnson , it was also mentioned that Stevie G was their no1 target but he wants to continue in Glasgow with Rangers,

Can see him doing well there, as he did with Valencia and Sevilla, as he's probably a Europa League knockout stage level manager.
He's not the utter clown Arsenal fans would like to believe, he just can't handle managing a top club which is nothing to be ashamed of.

Will be great to see Chris Hughton, back in management, thought he was very harshly treated by Brighton, they play a nice style of football under Potter but they haven't progressed that far this season

You are right he is not a clown, the circumstances and egos he was trying to deal with at Arsenal wasn't easy and he struggled big time with language
