Lord M's Act doesn't make selling a crime, only buying; it was supposed to protect sellers. Well, it's clear that this supposed intention can be easily bypassed.

That's exactly right, i'm pretty certain in saying that of all the ladies i have seen,the only ones who were on there own,were the ones who were working out of a hotel.
Apart from few i know were on there own at the time that i saw them,but they do have at least one working with them sometimes,i mean like this is all about money,it doesn't make sense for one lady to be working from a 2 or 3 bed apartment,where she could be renting it out to another girl.
That's why there is so very few,independent ladies.

I've often left the telly on in the living room with the door shut to give the impression that someone else is in the apartment with me. It doesn't really do to let people know you are on your own or broadcast that fact, as it leaves you vulnerable. There may have been times when you 'thought' someone else was there, when there never was.

This is one of the problems with the current law. We have to work alone for the sake of the law and you guys would prefer to see a woman on her own as there is less risk of a raid, but we can't communicate that fact without leaving ourselves wide open to possible abuse or theft. Catch 22.

EVEN IF you see a trusted escort, ( irrespective of his/her rates charged ) there us f*k all you can do if an apartment or hse is raided.

Its a gamble. I can see this putting a lot of ppl off.

Because of anonymity, I'm sure escorts can't come out guns blazing telling the irish goverment that they CHOOSE this career & they are not exploited.

In ireland, all sex workers from what i can see are painted with the same brush by media or lobby groups......(exploited etc etc) even if they are not!!
