Well as far as i can see its the banks that are going to profit the most every time we use our cards we get a bank charge, for instance take 200 out the cash point to use in a few shops one single charge but using your card in 3 or 4 shops get charged every time.

Cash for me represents something very important - Financial Privacy.

It's nobody's business how I spend what portion of my hard earned salary that is not stolen from me by the state.

The state likes to get one fifth of what you spend in VAT, ....At 23% its nearer a quarter.

    Yeah.

You've close to half your salary stolen from you by the time you get it into your hands, then the price of everything you buy with the remainder is 23% higher because the state is getting a cut every step of the way. Then there are some expenses that are multiples of what they should be again because of high taxes - Petrol/Diesel being one.

The government really is the ultimate parasite when viewed like that, it's no wonder they have a vested interest against the existence and usage of cash.

I've also noticed a lot of late that many small branches operate a cashless system. I wanted to do a cash lodgement in the AIB in the IFSC and unfortunately it was a cashless premises.
