I feel it will be fixed. So much complaint will have to drive those responsible to take note and work on it. So let's help.

I really don't mind the big pictures and all the scrolling gloss, but let's be more constructive in our criticism. Why not offer workable soloutions rather than just saying it's shite all the time.

It may be of help if someone could put up individual threads called "Proposed improvements Viewing a profile" or "Proposed improvements searching escorts" etc.. and show screen shots of the new layout and a screen of the old... Then let the punterhood comment CONSTRUCTIVELY thereafter... This way we could possibly help DevTeam make possible changes keeping the new look but incorporating the old features. Bit by bit we may just get there.

    I can't, I'm on phone.

If there were a handful of irritating problems this would be the right approach, but a quick skim of this thread shows that there are some fundamental design problems. I think the "gloss" as you put it has a place in making parts of the site look cool, but for regular users the site is a source of information, and the old style well-organised text features were spot on.

They have not once said that they are considering temporarily reverting to the old one until the new site is fit for purpose - perhaps they have done the migration in a way that makes that almost impossible. A lot of the frustration is coming from their refusal to adopt that obvious plan.

Another step they could take that would make people feel that progress was being made would be to ask a number of experienced users - client and escort - to be in an advisory group, and exchange clear communication about exactly what is needed in the way that you describe. If we saw that sort of thing happening it would give more confidence that they will get there in the end.

the old website reminds me of "what have the romans ever done for us" speech in monty python
"The mass of men live lives of quiet desperation" - Henry David Thoreau.

I honestly believe they will get there in the end. But let's help rather then moan.

Can I ask, how do you know we aren't? I may be speaking to 10 or 15 escorts and around 10 boards members right now

For Example, we now have made changes to the maps based on feedback, we are also going to put some old and new search functions in today and we are also looking to re-adjust the review system VERY rapidly based on very detailed feedback, most from "punter" side.

I think a 76% disapproval rating (based on current poll being run) REALLY does say it all. I am 100% all for change, and the old site definitely needed to be spruced up a bit, but the old site did what it did well. Any upgrades should enhance/improve the experience. The new site looks ok at first, but you quickly realise that several things are missing and it's a bit of a mish mash.

In particular in order of importance....

    1) My inbox is gone
    2) No access to chat anymore, (this and no.1 have totally eliminated the whole social experience of the site. I'm still scratching my head as to why they'd do this).
    3) Still using old tech for the community section which is probably a stand alone component in the software that they couldn't be arsed updating. This results in a horrible mish mash between the old and the new. It's awfully messy in my mind.

Correct the above 3 items and you're good to go, but launching the site when it's only half done is just unprofessional and, well, totally illogical.
It's almost as if they don't want us to use the site.

Anyway, the end result, from my side, is that I'll end up using the site less and less SPECIFICALLY because of these changes, which really is probably a good thing. My good Catholic upbringing can get back in there.

    Hi Davus:

1: Inbox gone, Sorry to be so Dim, but you mean for your PM's?
2: Chat will be resumed shortly
3: I agree, but the vBullitin system is very unfriendly to modify (many forums use it as its very reliable in other ways) and we didn't want to move from it for many reasons, least of all (and don't laugh) we wanted to keep the forums functions similar to the "old".

If there's anything else drop me a PM, some times it's hard to keep up on here.
    Thanks,
    Gary - Manager
