Best port of call is a dentist, rather than asking people here.
Although if it's a bacterial infection in the mouth then you should be able to get rid of it pretty quickly through natural means. Great remedies are Coconut Oil or dare I say... Raw Garlic.
I got a bout of Tonsillitis last year, and I managed to eradicate it quite quickly through the use of raw Garlic (not for the feint-hearted).

one of the first things he'll ask anyway is, did you take any painkillers?
nothing wrong with taking over the counter meds while you wait for an ap, which is most that have been mentioned so far (except tylex which is basically just neurofen plus before it went perscrip only)
