Depends on how long ago the relationship finished I would imagine & was it a mutual decision to end it?
It's the end of a relationship so wouldn't imagine starting a friendship is the best thing, but who knows? Everyone is different I suppose, I've never stayed friends with an ex.... I think it's hard to be friends with somebody you've contemplated killing on many occasions, mwuahahaha!

I'm friends with most of my ex's no disasters occurred ................ yet

Yep you can but you need to make sure there is no strong feelings left.
I was with my ex split up got back together and split up again.
We even went on holidays together after that and are still friends
I am on speaking terms to all my ex,s and have even spent a night in an other ex,s house in different rooms twice

Yes your right, hate is a bit strong on reflection. But I'm not friends with to many and usually have no contact after a break up.
