22 reasons Tinder is the absolute WORST dating app [plagiarised from metro.co.uk]

    1. The realisation that the world’s hottest people are not secretly hiding away on an app
    2. The bio-related banter is awful
    3. Followed by the worst conversation, almost always
    4. The constant sting of rejection
    5. The existence of ‘Moments’
    7. That ‘last active’ thing
    8. The fact that you will see everyone you know on there
    9. It’s actually a bit rubbish, functionality-wise
    10. Attempting to sell yourself with 5 profile pictures is torturous
    11. But it’s nothing compared to the struggle of crafting a bio
    12. The pain of being unmatched
    13. Constant threesome requests
    14. People immediately taking things to bizarrely sexual levels
    15. It has massive stalker potential
(Someone COULD track you down by keeping an eye on when the ‘distance away’ decreases. If that’s not terrifying, I don’t know what is.)

    6. And even more massive social media stalking potential
People like to pretend it’s all so anonymous and free. Have you heard of google image search?

    17. It pretty much puts you off modern men/women for life
    18. Didn’t really need to see your nipples, thanks.
    19. Location misery is a real concern
    20. People are either super keen to meet up, or weirdly content with never meeting
    21. Swipe-related repetitive strain injury
    22. It’s life-ruiningly addictive

You'll have there no reviews, no verified pictures, it could easily just be a set up for a blackmail !!!!

A friend of mine met a "girl" online a few months back, sexy and friendly. She straightaway invited him to have a Skype chat, but hey, she could only type as her mike wasn't working or something ... She already knew his email address from Skype I assume, the rest she probably just asked, in the view of a potential meet.

"She" than started to undress in front of the webcam inviting him to do the same. My friend, despite of being a very intelligent young man acted like a teen and went for it without thinking for a second why a woman that he never met, so attractive would be so much in a hurry to give him a naked show and wants the same from him. Anyhow, the show went on and one day later my friend was notified that he has recorded and if he doesn't pay a certain amount the video will get released online. On Flickr, Facebook, sent to his Facebook friends etc. He of course didn't have any money to pay but something tells me that if he had money he would have which is a huge mistake, you never should pay a blackmailer. A new profile appeared on FB with his surname and his school details and asked for friendship to all the people on his friendlist. People seeing the same surname and details mostly accepted the invitation and than the video of my friend was sent to them and also put online. Ohh, the humiliation he had to suffer, his mother and cousins were also on his friend list, plus I suspect girls whe was talking to etc.

When he told me the story I was livid, I couldn't believe how silly he acted. I reported all those videos and they have been removed but the damage has been done, most of his friends, colleagues, family have seen the video, which by the way had a very lovely title of "rapist homosexual" followed by his name.

Considering that my friend was not married, it wasn't the end of the world. But I check online, this is a well known international scam where GUYS are using the image of a girl and they animate her to look like it's live and actually do this blackmailing thing as a very very lucrative scam. Imagine some of the people caught were married or in a high position and they probably ended paying for it trough their teeth ...

So, really guys, be very careful. You know all those sayings about something that seems too good to be true it probably isn't. Ok, there is a small chance behind those Tinder invites that an escort that doesn't do that much money may try to get a few clients, or a genuine bored housewife may try to buy a new pair of shoes but the chance of you being taken some money off it's too big to take a risk like this in my opinion.

On an escorting site, mostly, numbers and pictures are verified for a reason and even than you sometimes can get caught in a bite&switch type of scenario or go someplace you feel very unsafe.

When there is so much choice on an escorting site, with all kind of ladies, with all kind of prices, chasing some wannabe escorts on a social platform seem a bit dodgy.

If you do it, at least be careful with the following:

    - don't send money in advance.
    - don't do Skype naked be careful as they could edit the footage showing your head on someone else naked body if they really want to.
    - make sure you don't give your name, real email address, real FB real phone number if that appears in google searches.
    - google all their given contact details, google search their pictures too.
    - if in any doubts, don't organise meets in her place or your place, ask her to meet in front of a cheap hotel maybe and you can take a room there if really she is a woman and comes to meet.

P.S. I should fucking avoid writing long posts like this in the future I'll keep to oneliners.

a young guy killed himself recently over that.

people have to be very careful when it comes to the internet. once something is on the net, its there for life. i have my camera on my laptop covered with tape just in case because there was a virus going around that could hack into your webcam and see what you were doing.

From my experience... Tinder and all other such sites are just a load of bolloxs! 90% of those there are false and its nothing short of a money making scam for their owners. Fair fucks to anyone who has managed to meet anyone off them but from my point of view pure scam plain and simple. Thoroughly agree with SteveB there.

I'd rather try my luck scouting the pubs of Dublin on a weekend night.

I don't usually have much to say on serious topics but this is one that just riles me no end. Fucking sites are dangerous... and they want to outlaw guys going to see escorts. geeez the insanity of our leaders.

Rant over back to me pint
