Cheers bud but ya well on top of it.
Once they find out you have it , they start the venesection straight away and once your iron level start to get to the norm then you start feeling the benefit.
The biggest problem with HH is getting diagnosed in time....

No pills can help TBG I don,t take pills only as a last resort.
Diet is important but venesection is the most important since it,s the only way to take iron out of your system

    Hey willie
did u say coffee is bad for the condition and green tea good
I was told to stop eating green veg and red meat
I know myself when I need to give blood pains in joints been wrecked tired poor concentration
as u say once u give the blood u feel u could run a marathon

I feel my father rip died from it as he had the same complaints I had but it was not diagnosed at that stage
I must look out for a support group
thanks willie for raising this post

It is Hereditary and both of parents have to carry the gen for you to get it, I,m the only one to have it.
If your parents are carriers then you have a 25% chance of being HH.
The blood test is only an indicator, a genetic test is the only way to be sure.
Now if your iron levels are normal then you do not need a genetic test

No coffee is ok but tea,esp green tea is better, they say you should cut out alcohol
Greens are fine even if they have iron since you don,t absorb iron from greens as easy as red meat.
You still need red meat in your diet so maybe 2 helpings a week and have tea with and after your meal.
And don,t drink citric drink as they high in vit c which helps u absorb iron

If your father died over 20 years ago yes it,s quiet possible from HH as they knew nothing then about it.
