They are saying now that it was premeditated. He had been on a flight earlier in the day, as the pilot was interviewed. I do wonder if he would have done it then, but the pilot didn't leave the cockpit. I bet he is thankful to be alive right now.
I am surprised that they never had the rule of 'minimum' two in the cockpit before, as the cockpit has to be lockable from the inside due to possible terrorist attacks. It's such a shame that it takes something like this before people see sense.
I can't help but feel sorry for all concerned, including the co pilots family. They must be shocked, heart broken and generally devastated and wondering if there was anything they could have done. The poor family that made a mad rush to get their child onto the plane, barely making it on there. How they will re-live those last moments together again and again, wishing they hadn't made it.
My eyeballs are getting wet, time to stop typing...
