BTW she is definitely the sort of person, you would want to be beside you in trench while under enemy fire, the supreme measure of a man or a woman!:angryfire

    WELL DONE, LAURA!
I hope you get on well & wish you all the best luck. But I don't think the new law will make much difference either way, if the experiences of Norway & Sweden are to be believed.

It will make a big difference I'm afraid. Primarily to those sex workers who need the money they make to feed their children. They're frightened, and they have every right to be. In some cases sex work is all they've ever known and for various different reasons they can't do anything else.

The "experiences" of Sweden are one of the reasons I've campaigned on this so hard from the get go. In Sweden, rates of violence against sex workers have soared, homelessness is common and sex workers don't go forward to the police and report crime. Out reach services can't reach the most vulnerable, even to hand out condoms, because the sex workers hide away. On street workers report having little time to make an assessment before jumping into a car which again, gives rise to higher rates of violence. Abusive clients push boundaries because they know there's nothing the sex workers can do about it and the sex workers themselves report having to do far more beyond what they're comfortable with for far less cash. Finally, the rate of rape in Sweden has soared over the last 15 years and is now the highest in Europe. I'd say that's reason enough to step in and stop the DUP before they do any more damage.

Wasn't there a video of Lord Morrow talking to 'Anna' on-line somewhere? It was the starting point for his anti-sex Act. I can't find it anywhere.

    Any ideas, any links?

    Ta!

Sometimes it takes a friend with Asperger's syndrome to really ram it home. 'It's ok for the magazines to have women in all states of undress, for the Daily Mail to take umbrage at some beautiful lady for her perceived physical flaws and objectify women in every way possible, but it's not OK for a woman to choose to take a cock for money if she wants to'.

While not exactly the most elegantly worded sentiment, I think it pretty much encapsulates the blatant hypocrisy of the weird dichotomy of 'sex sells is ok in every aspect of life, as long as it's not actually selling sex'

Also first post, you seem a smart bunch and I've been lurking for a while
