    Default Sacked over porn

Three UK judges have been sacked and a fourth has resigned after being caught watching porn on, offical IT equipment,
there was no allegation that it was anything other than regular porn. What are ure views on this? They were doing nothing illegal other than using work equipment, but i daresay if they were online shopping or booking a holiday
they wouldnt have been fired for it. Is it a bit hypocritical to take the action they did
    Blatant promotion should be outlawed

i can understand why they were sacked but i think it was a bit harsh. a warning would have being enough. the uk is very totalitarian now. if you spat your chewing gum on the curb youd probably be in jail for five years.

personally id never watch porn at work, but i still think it is harsh on them.

It all depends on what their terms and conditions were as to the use of the offical IT equipment. It might not have been the porn being accessed but the fact that the equipment was being used for uses outside their terms and conditions.

It would be difficult to sack someone here for a first offense of watching porn.
    Or indeed after several times.

Well if that was the case why mention the porn? Im fairly sure as ive already said if it was used to book a holiday etc at the most it would be a reprimand and most likely no action atall

Probably because of media sensationalism! As soon as people see the words "Judges" and "Porn" in the same sentence they leap to read it. "Booking a holiday" just does not have the same sensationalism factor unfortunately.

Unless you're a boss which 95% of people aren't you would be mad to do that in work, it should be on your private pc or tablet.

Stupid, Private activities such as Oggling Hot Naked Women "Not on Work Time" No one deserves to be sacked until it can be Proved they were "Not set up" to take attention away from someone two or three steps above them on the ladder
