Their rationale is that paying for sex is a form of rape, given that the government are under the misconception that most sex workers are coerced.
My understanding is that this is a different law, and has been in force for some time. I don't think anyone has been even charged with this offence.

The first escort I visited here , I was under the impression that It was illegal. I am single and enjoy meeting new ladies, and it's my choice. I think alot of the married cheaters are beginning to shit themselves maybe? It's just a guess.

The Nordic Model has been implemented under the guise of an 'anti-trafficking' law, but it is commonly accepted within the sex industry that this is a moral, religious issue, given that the DUP in the north and Ruhama in the Republic are pushing for it.

The thing your missing is once it in, it the law, you can decide whether to accept it or not, its like most other laws in Ireland, unfair but they are the law with the majority of people agreeing to them.
Too many lick arses and sheep in Ireland that have no back bone but the law is the law whether you like it or not, I don't but if caught you will be punished and made an example of, if you free and single it may be not too bad for you but if married or in a relationship its different. I couldn't care less now as its coming in anyway and Ireland is becoming one expensive shit hole and fed up with it all
