Paths, drains, grass cutting, road maintenance............probably building of social welfare housing too mind you.

But where your property tax shouldn't be going is water services. But until people pay for that service elsewhere ,they have to rob Peter to pay Paul.
That is the whole problem in all sectors, the money doesn't go to where it was suppose to go. no wonder so many people are so pissed off with it all.

That`s really going to help improve the water system. Crazy!!
BTW, Irish Water have now raised the connection charge to 3,700 for all connections.
its madness that as very little involved in connecting someone up being only some metres away but not bothered as that water is not good anyway

We were told our Local Property Tax was going to provide local services, It is now being handed to Irish Water and we are being told we still have to pay for water.
Well this Peter has had enough of being robbed blind and conned to pay Paul the bondholder. That would be the Paul of "not a cent mores" Eamonn Gilmore.

Taxes can only go one way in this country , up . If protest succeeds in giving every one free water then we will pay in other ways USC will just be increased to fill the hole .

The issue that everyone is ignoring , and that is dragging the country down is that of public sector pensions . Remember that every public servant who retires at 50 or 55 will be paid half of their final year salary for the rest of their lives . Most will live another 40 years , do the maths folks

And what for it . The universal health insurance is next. They are building a database of peoples info including pps nos so they can deduct at source. Then you can protest all you want as they will and can still take the money.
