An Garda Siochana (guardians of the peace)

set up to police the newly formed State. worked in tandem with the church
keeping people in line with fear, the two maintained the status quo.

church has lost it's grip. we have peace now, we have a multi-cultural society.
Ireland requires a quality crime prevention/investigation service.
dysfunction and hopelessness is the vibe i get in the garda station. the broken swing
door for a decade in my local is a metaphor.

they get hardened by the difficult job they do. the others tell that if
they stick together, they'll all survive. they back each other up, relentlessly.
