Sorry to start the day with a moan, but I get the impression that you guys with euros don't appreciate how the Euro being weak against sterling impacts for the British girls.

I just had a guy call me and tell me he only had €60 and could he have 30 minutes of my time for that?

Here is the maths.

I charge £90 in the UK (including Northern Ireland). I cross the border and I charge €100. I have not changed this rate in line with current exchange rates, so currently that equates to £78, which means I've already taken a £12 cut on my minimum charge.

€60 is the equivalent of £46 rounded down. That's nearly half my normal rate in the UK.

Sterling is the currency I pay my bills with. Any money that I make in the Republic has to be transferred to sterling for me to pay my bills etc, so I don't get like for like benefit.

Basically what I'm saying is anyone wanting to haggle please don't embarrass yourself, as it will result in a short sharp rejection. I don't care how horny you are. I will not be lowering my rates.

There are plenty of girls out there already charging much less and plenty that don't have to change their euros and take a loss, so maybe better to find someone within your price range rather than put me in a bad mood.

The thread is about the difference in currency valuation not about a couple of pence/cents here or there when converting it.

Personally I think Kate could look on the bright side.
She can afford to turn down what may have taken that haggler most of a day to earn.

Don't you think of seeing an Escort as a 'luxury'? I mean if I'm short on cash, I wouldn't be going to a spa day, but I might like to. It's something I would save up for or do when I'm feeling more flush.

Also, the haggler does not just have one Escort to choose from. There are as someone else said a good 1000 advertising across Ireland, so he has a choice of different ladies with different rates. He can happily find someone within his budget, rather than waste my time trying to get me to reduce my rate.

This job relies a lot on trust and respect and it is hard to respect someone who doesn't respect your rate, so for me it is a starting point and an easy decision to say no to.

It may seem pointless to you, but at the time I was annoyed, especially with the fact that I had a call soon after from a mate of this guy making out like he had been told that €60 was my rate. There are some reall piss takers out there and it wasn't a good start to my day and makes you wonder how the day is going to pan out. Thankfully the rest of the day went well and I could put it behind me, but I think this guy was more than just a chancer, he simply has no respect.

With respect, maybe you should quote euro and sterling rates, cause we may not have the right currency. I remember changing sterling into euro at a cost, only to pay a lady who was going to the UK.We both lost out

I will accept either where ever I am working. Yesterday I got paid in sterling by two clients and I'm in Louth, so great! I accept euro in Northern Ireland for bookings of an hour or more, as the rate works out nearer the same. It's mostly the half hour rate that has the big difference.

Frankly I think you've lost perspective.
Think of how good your life is compare with so many.
Perhaps then life's little annoyances won't upset you.

No I've not lost perspective at all. I'm trying to earn a living and this job commands trust and respect. Without it it becomes dangerous and not a job to be enjoyed. I want to be able to enjoy my work and work with people I can trust to care about my well being when I am with them. It's a very basic thing.

Why would you even entertain the call just hang up on them, it's the same in any other job , would they take a pay cut and do the same job there doing . I think not .....
