The Greeks, as always had an answer for that. Zeus and his missus Hera were arguing about whether men or women enjoyed sex more. Hera thought it was women, but generally had to defer to Zeus.
Enter Tiresias. He was a shepherd, but had been transformed into a woman for seven years, so he knew both sides. So Zeus and Hera asked him; on a scale of ten, the woman gets 9, the man. Hera wasn't pleased that her best kept secret had been revealed, and struck him blind.
