Oh...this sounds so scary, but I don't think they go thru this, they just want to scare us or the guys!
Everybody has needs and can't stop this! Hopefully not....

isn t it illegal to run an escort agency in ireland already? i guess over 80% of escorts here work for agencies an it doesn't seem 2 make any difference to clients or escorts at the moment. lucrative black market but no one has any objections as far as i can see.

It seems to me, that this law change is based not on any facts, science or unbiased research, but on ideology, PR and BS.

It is going to be shoehorned into some kind of sexual offences bill with a number of widely popular measures.

It is clearly against the wishes and interests of the very group of people it is supposed to help.

To be an effective law it would require considerable resources that the public would want deployed elsewhere

Well, you said it; 80% is a guess. You best start looking at Ruhama and TOLR's statistics and make a more 'informed' guesstimation on that. Besides, this is a point about criminalising 'the client', so like the prohibition of alcohol in the 1920s, there will be risky supply and demand that not very nice people will be only too happy to pay.

i am not being biased in favour of this website, but i can say with certainty it will go underground. There will be a thriving black market of prostitution in a few years. Prohibition, dog fighting, drugs etc. are testaments to this. Where there is demand, supply will be found. There will be something on tor i bet that will be prostitution linked.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." George Santayana.

I think its a pre election gimmick on the part of FG to counter the water charges negativity. They want to get the female vote and this is one way to do it. Its also more beneficial to an economy to have men marry and have children, rather than be single and visit escorts.

They will regret it. There will be a big underground prostitution ring exposed in five years time, that wouldnt have occurred had the status quo not changed. If there is demand, supply will be found. This is the corner stone of any illicit activity in the world

Surely this has to make it extremely difficult for even the most established of escorts to stay around.
Its surely lights out for the newcomers.
,even talking on the phone will change.
The client is going to be on edge even though he has seen this escort many times and we all talk about time and companionship etc but that still won't stop cops targeting premises and making escorts and clients both very uncomfortable especially at the beginning. We say, sure the cops will have to prove it but they got nothing better to do now that have been given a true green light and in the end will the client really want all this hassle .

whats the difference between marriage, porn and prostitution? they are all the same really.

    marriage is just legalized prostitution
porn is legalized prostitution with a camera

i cant help but think this bill is being introduced to make men and women alike live a conventional life of marriage

depends how they police it. the guards could just ignore it like the car tax a few years ago or they could be like the stasi

In the beginning they will have to be seen to be doing something I would think.

There only one thing for it, outcalls…

I’d be more than happy too to collect the escort and bring her back to my place,
All travel and accommodation expenses would of course be deducted from the rate.
