FC Barcelona would be no more only for Irish man Frank O Farrell took them on tour of America and most of players never returned to Barcelona as they feared for there lives on return. You will have a break away and who will be next the Basques or Galicians ????
Patrick O'Connell was the Irishman who managed Barcelona.

The Madrid government has declared the vote illegal so it will be interesting to see what the next couple of years will bring. Early indications are that the majority (of those who voted) are in favour so it appears to be game on

Interesting stat: In 2008, before the recession in the Eurozone, in an opinion poll only 17% were in favour of Catalonia becoming an independent state. At the end of 2013 that figure had grown to 48.5%

The Spanish Football governing body has said that they will but not sure if they are just scaremongering. I'd say they will come to some arrangement similar to Cardiff and Swansea playing in the English league and other examples elsewhere. El Classico is too lucrative a fixture for them
