I do have to agree with you on this point it was only later in life when our family started to foster children that these warning signs were pointed out ,before that I was as a grown man was put in a similar position as SteveB and didnt realise that the child was being abused but always made sure never to be alone with her ,later found that her ,her 2 sisters and 2 brothers were all abused by their uncle ,just sorry that i didnt know so that I could help

Personally I think 13 is too ambigious a sexual age to be pointing the finger. Now maybe if you said 8 or 9 or even 10, I would be saying that was suspicious, as this is the time in our life when our sexuality is fairly neutral. However, as soon as a girl starts to menstruate, then her body is preparing her to be a Mother and as such the desires begin naturally. Having said that, one of my cousins started her periods at 9, so she may have been very sexually aware by the time she was 13, whereas I was 13 when mine started and I would say that is when I really started to experiment by myself, although I was sexually aware before.

I lost my virginity at 14 and wish to god I hadn't. It fucked me up big time. People think its cool for a male to be seduced by a female teacher but it really isn't. She took advantage of me knowing my mother had died, but I just wanted someone to talk to about stuff. I didn't enjoy it as it confused the fuck out of me, as I wound up just not trusting people. It took me a long time after to form any sort of relationship and I just hid away and felt really bad not knowing who to trust or what they wanted from me. It took years of therapy include sex therapy to enjoy sex but even today I don't want to be involved with someone and am suspicious
One of the kindest people I know is an escort back in the UK and we talk a lot together.
She got me through a lot so don't tell me escorts are bad or sad people. She just likes escorting, no drugs, no broken home or anything. Like Kendra said, escorts are normal people, with all the joys and ills of normal people.

There was a documentary on the telly recently where the boss went on the ground floor with a road sweeper and she was shocked at how ignorant people could be and how they completely blanked her when she said hello or wished them well as they walked on by. The guy that she was shadowing on that day had been doing the job for 20 years and said he and desensitized himself to it and was now immune to the looks that he was given and didn't even try to speak to the general public as they walked by.
I think the main difference between those jobs you have highlighted and Sex Work is that in those jobs there is support for each other within the system and they care about the welfare of their comrades and generally have respect within the community. If you go by the forum on here, that is not something that can be said within Sex Work. It's each person for themselves and it takes a long time before you find a few fellow sex workers that you can trust and be sure of their support if you need it. Beyond that... You're on your own!
everything in life is self taught op. nobody learns it for you....you have to learn it yourself

It's also possible that the 13 year old had intelligent, loving switched-on parents who gave her a proper sex education.
It's probably still pretty rare in this godforsaken country, but it's possible.
Bollocks, did you go on a Fás course, or is being a complete and utter gobdaw something that comes naturally to you?
