Just wondered why an escort/courtesan/hooker would be offended being called a prostitute, after all that's what it is!

I have never visited a prostitute but many a time visited an escort.in my mind a hooker or prostitute is someone you pick up on a street corner and an escort is someone I'd visit and have an enjoyable experience with

Yes it is a very offensive term and prostitute is just an ugly word in general it's more associated with the street walkers and generally a sleazy term. So it's diffinelty not a term u would ever associate with the ladies here who in my veiw provide us guys with a high class escort service! Just because a word exists and can be applied to a particular person or profession does not mean it should be used without consideration. As already stated Escorts provide a completely different experience and level of service to the prostitute of the past.

I know which I prefer and am willing to show Escorts the respect I believe they are entitled to as professional service providers. Therefore I won't be referring to them as prostitutes and I don't believe that I am in the minority in this regard.
