Default age verification = end to trafficking?

I had to verify my age by sending in passport details to site. I had to do this in scandinavia as well.
Will this stop or help stop trafficking?
Will the garda be able to check escorts passport against the passport e-i has on file for escorts adver
    ?
    I hope so!

There is only one way to end TRAFFICKING, legalise this business. I think its protect the ladies and punters. This is the oldest profession on the planet if the government brings in more legislation, all it will do is drive it more underground, more into the hands of criminals and therefore more trafficking with I,m afraid more underage girls.

Currently escorting is legal. It is illegal for escorts to share apartments, otherwise it is classed as a brothel. From my understanding, 'raid' is the headline that sells papers, whereas in reality, most of the time, gardai are just knocking on the doors making sure escorts are okay, checking ID and making sure that everything is in order.

The Irish and Northern Irish government are working to make paying for sex illegal, as in the infamous 'Nordic Model' that the Swedish government implemented in the late 90s, boasting that it has eradicated the sex trade in their country. Despite ambiguous, varying statistics to actually support this and an increase in street prostitution.

Paying for sex in Ireland is not illegal at the moment. Obviously if it was illegal, it wouldn't affect your punting habits as you assumed it was anyway

Just to add, it is illegal to knowingly have sex with a coerced/trafficked escort and if someone has information about a coerced/trafficked escort, they have a legal obligation to inform the authorities. That said, 'trafficking' is a term that has been broadened to imply that trafficked escorts are all forced and pimped (slavery), however the reality is that an escort buying a plane ticket for another escort so that they can come to Ireland and work would be regarded as 'trafficking' in the eyes of the law. The Irish government seem to hang all their jackets on that peg in the hope that the weight will bring down the coat stand.

Ok point taken I worded it wrong. What I mean is let it become a proper regulated business and it becomes easier to stop trafficking. But like in all business there will always be a criminal element

What you mean is to regulate the industry. I think a lot of sex workers prefer the industry to be 'semi-legal' as I am sure the government would take a bigger slice of the pie in taxes than any pimp would

    I jest...

Ya you probably right, Show how stupid government are. Now this 1 billion euro industry has to be included in our GDP which makes it harder to reach our 3%,
