Stranger things have happened. In 1984, Nigel Mansell famously collapsed while pushing his car to the finish line after the transmission failed on the last lap of the Dallas Grand Prix. The race was one of the hottest on record, and he had been driving 2 hours in 104 °F (about 40 °C). He still managed to finish sixth. This gave him one championship point.

This would be illegal under the rules now.

And on current form, Seb would have to push a lot further..........

Jack Brabham, in the 1959 United States Grand Prix ran out of fuel within sight of the finish line while he was leading the race.

He pushed the car to the line, and still came fourth. He won the championship by four points.

I was a massive F1 fan back in the day but the gobshites who run it have been slowly killing for the last several years taking out much of the excitement like fuel stops etc...now it is just a procession type race usually with vettel at the front.

Wow next week is the first race weekend. I am really excited for this season it seems like a more even playing field now with all the regulation changes. Nice to see Red Bull struggling with testing as they normally have the best updates on their car every season with Adrian Newey.

Good thread at last..Used to have a problem with Hamilton but not anymore he's an out and out racer and I admire his Grit and all this shit with tyres didnt help... loved his ex girlfriend too . Alonso and Kimi at Ferrari will be one to watch..Kimi is a legend and will rattle Alonso cage .. Red Bull probably sand bagging and will be quick out of the blocks..Adrian Newey & Vettell..anyone willing to bet against them for the championship..not me.

I love Lewis's aggressive driving style. If he can not pass you , he will kick you off the track .

    Gotta love the man
