Re: XIII - watched the first episode - it was a bit messy but has potential...(worth noting it got cut after two seasons in the US so it's not going to be a long series) Used to play the computer game version of this about 10 years ago, was excellent in that format but maybe it's messing up my view of this as a standalone TV programme.

Surprised only one person has recommended Sons of Anarchy - about to start it having heard good feedback elsewhere.
