When you travel on your own in a foreign land , it is inevitable that you will need information (re : sights to visit ,

    transportation , accommodation , food , etc.) .

Presto : you are talking to people , sharing your experiences , asking questions ; it's very likely they are 1. as lost as you are

and it's a huge relief for them to be talking to someone , or 2. they know the place and can point you in the right direction ..

Traveling alone is by far the more adventurous , the more enlightening ,

the more humanly rewarding experience -- in my experience x

**of course I'm not knocking the 5* lux way ; they each have their time and place . I love my Spa Holidays xx
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

[QUOTE=dob;1273035]I go to the cinema on my own.
I go on holidays on my own, (short ones though)
I used to go to night clubs on my own.
I wouldn't go to a restaurant on my own, unless I was very very hungry. Kind of where I draw the line.

Could not have written it better myself, But then I couldnt imagine myself going with dob or anyone else. There is an amount of freedom with being on your own. Only downside is hotel price is usually the same for 1 or 2
I have no problem being seen as a loner loser. [/QUOTE

i have people around me all the time,at work, But prefer my own company,,,,,and I guess that most of us on this site may make the odd visit to an escort, which can sometime spice up a holiday. Certainly has for me in certain places More awkward if you are with someone.
