I skipped through this video, given the attitude of the committee members, seemed more interested in tripping her up then getting her testimony.
I also listened to a debate on newstalk today on the prostitution issue on Sarah Carey's programme. Talking heads with cliches and fabricated facts and no interest in talking to real live sex workers

Having a personal alarm if you are a regular non-descript female: Kudos and to be encouraged, we value your safety etc etc

Having a personal alarm if you are a sex worker: Well why would you need that unless your line of profession was terrible? What are you doing?

Just watching it now. I noticed comments are disabled for the video.
You think they could have cleared the table before starting the meeting, all you can hear is plates and cups being moved when your man from the DUP is opening the meeting.

I watched about half of this but it was making me so angry the way they treated Laura with their air of superiority. Of course she bloody does, but at a discount rate, the same way a maid would or a hotel would or a car repairsman would. What a load of toss.

Yes, they absolutely HATE sex workers, that much is clear. I think the key thing for me to do was remain calm and put
my argument across in a rational, measured manner. In effect, they've hung themselves here because there are so many
people writing to the Justice Minister to complain it's incredible. I'm really gonna haul them over the coals for this one.

In the meantime, I'm still working away behind the scenes so please don't despair, this isn't over, not by a long shot.
