That is you as an individual who is doing that good deed, not the church. Every monday there is a 3 woman who make soup for the homeless in Limerick and stand there with a table and stuff set up for them in the city centre, and I know for a fact there not working for a church, they are social workers. Anyone can do that, the church has fucked countless people up, giving food to the homeless isnt going to change anything. But respect where respect is due, giving up your christmas to help the poor and homeless is a very nice gesture so well done
Pain is not a feeling an emotion nor a thought, Pain is weakness leaving your body.

It's not just me an individual at all, the st vincent dep paul is an international catholic organisation and look at all the work they do. The church food programme has given out in the last year like a 100 tonne of food, the church have done alot of good even if people don't believe it.

I like how Nikkita likes all the aethiasts but then again she always came across as someone who thinks she's superior and smarter than those that believe in a higher power, good for you.

To the girls - LET ME TELL YOU THAT XMAS DAY IS THE MOST PROFITABLE DAY TO WORK IN DUBLIN X

There are a lot of foreigners stuck in dubs, that do not believe in Christ – totally diff culture, and are ready and willing. The most boring day of the year for them - every feckin shop is closed.

Unfortunately, I have prior engagements. Good luck and have a very merry Xmas to all x

Culture has nothing to do with beliefs, you could say Kuwait is a different country different culture but they are for the most part Muslim, also I would say there is something quite depressing about being "busy" on christmas, I don't pity anyone that sees escorts on christmas day but they must be so lonely and my heart goes out to them cause it is a time to be with family/loved ones and friends, I wouldn't be touting how busy you are on christmas.

Oh please, we’re here to make money. Don’t kid yourself…I’m laughing all the way to the bank. And unlike you, I don't assume EVERYONE celebrates Christmas.

Excuse me but what is wrong with being Muslim and for that matter Hindu, Buddist, etc. Anything other than Christian?

I celebrate the birth of Santa.

I'm not religious, I don't believe in God. Christmas for me is a bit time off work, catch up with family and otherwise just kick back and relax. Oh yeah, and I get to eat a turkey leg on the bone aaarrrrgh! (sorry I just get some kind of primal kick out that - yeah I know, weird)

BTW, fair dues to anyone who volunteers to help less fortunate people, not just at Christmas- at any time.

How many of you actually see it as a religious day or dedicate it to jesus? And how many just see It as what It is, a materialistic day spent with friends and family?

Personally as a proud Atheist and dedicated hater of all things catholic, christain and whatever the fuck else you want to call it I see It as a day to get bladdered in order to forget its christmas, I just dont like the day or the holiday. People wll call me pessimistic but really I couldnt give a toss.

    Happy Holidays folks
Its a load of bollox to me tbh and always was. FFS seeing people who who havnt seen for so long you nearly have to be reintroduced to them again.
