Good one - that textspeak makes me smile though if an escort sent me that one, i'd think 'is stephen hawkings now on e-i ?'

Really irks me when you have to double concentrate when somebody wishes to make a serious point but doesn't have the courtesy to at least express it in a reader-friendly way.

It is ironic that you spelt 'text speak' as 'txtspeak' in your title

    Deliberate ,i can assure you!

(unlike my omission of the letter 'a' in the title thread- didn't realise that you can't edit the thread title when correcting)

When I get a pm or email in text speak, I ignore it. There's just no way to relate to someone that thinks writing in that way is acceptable. I cater to men; not adolescents.

Ah see that is what you get for having had a brain virus and being up at 3am. My brain can't fathom simple things out when it is tired. Thanks for the correction and thanks Steph for thanking him for correcting me You're so sweet xxxx

I do agree that when it comes to bookings and first communication for a booking, then really txt speak is not appropriate, as it is important that both sides understand what is expected of each other. I once had a guy as me for a freebie in txt speak (I can't remember how it looked now) and I didn't understand what it meant and forgot to ask. Let's just say he didn't stay long and we were both annoyed. He was asking in lieu of some work he was going to do for me.

As you say, I don't reply to text talk any more, as it can just get you tangled up.

I hope I did not offend you. It was only a guess that your squiggle may be suggesting exclude. Disclude seems just as valid.

I am sorry to hear of your brain virus and was not making fun of you. Things sometimes come across differently in writing. My post should probably have been longer, or have been phrased as a question. I am sorry if it appeared mean.

It didn't suggest anything, or I would have recognised my mistake straight away

I have a degree in English, so I guess stuff like this is a bit personal, as I find it so frustrating when words escape me and I am a huge fan of words. I really don't mind being corrected, but you know it is personally upsetting when I actually have no recollection of the correct word until it is put in front of me. It happens more when I'm tired, so not always bad. I should just learn to live with it I guess.

Your apology is of course accepted and no worries, it wasn't mean, but correct.
