I think that you may have misinterpreted. I assume that he meant the address of the escort which is a good idea to prevent a certain type of fake review. It will not stop the pimps/escorts themselves.

"That every reviewer has to give full name, address and mobile phone numberthat was used to contact the escort when giving a review, this information would only be visible to EI staff. EI would then contact the escort and confirm that the guy with this number was actually with Her"

Eh .............. no .............. I believe it is quite clear what the suggestion was ........... it is also clear that it is the suggestion of a man-child!!!

Sorry, I said it was a bad idea, it was supposed to provoke a reaction, which it did. And what good reactions they are too. It was over the top and completely ridiculous and possibly the worst idea ever.

What can Patricia really do about this? Every service industry has to deal with this kind of thing. Like restaurants getting bad reviews by people that haven't even eating in them, etc. etc. And Paws and Punterminater are always stressing the need for free speech on this site. There is always going to be a few bad apples getting through no matter what system you employ, unless you do something drastic, which will curtail the free speech of the genuine punters.

Even if you try Magicmans ideas on board. Lets take point 8, you ban a person because of a fake review, He justs gets a new email and makes another fake review. But that brings us back to point 1, a reviewer has to post for three months on the forum before writing a review. Is that not against freespeech? and I mean how many members actually even stay 3 months? Not only that but some people might not even want to post on the forum.

Then there is the not verified option. An escort would probably say to you that once it's written down at all and people can see it then even if it has not verified it has probably impacted her business.

    I'm too hungover. Sorry.

It wasnt that bad an idea but most punters dont want their personal details with either the site or an escort. Something definatly has to be done GiantTools reviews were the straw that broke the camels back Hopefully he and anyone else who abuses the reviews will be banned

Well at least it has got the debate going!

Theres a lot of intelligent people here and a few who claim they are inteliigent! So lets get our heads together and see what we can come up with.

Then we just have to get Patricia to take it on board!

A fairly secure way would be for the site to give every paying advertiser a unique 4 digit pin number, which the lady then offers to each client at the end of a booking and tells him that he cannot post a verified review without it. The guys who do want to review would then have to quote it when they submit the review.

A review submitted with no pin number would have the rat next to it...

Not foolproof, and could even be a pain in the arse I admit, and I can anticipate a few problems with it - but heading down the right track maybe...?

No, because this would lead to the ladies being able to pick and choose who gets to review them. An even worse situation in my opinion.

Yes that's a situation which could occur - there's a chance they could avoid bad reviews this way - but they would also be losing out on good ones. A lady with good verified reviews... and poor ones with a rat next to them...you'd soon notice a pattern forming there...

All I was trying to point out in my over the top first post was that in this world of escorts and punters nobody really wants to be known and they want to leave as little information as possible. That means it is going to be really hard to get any sort of fool proof verification system going.

and like Punterminater says (hey We agree on something ) The pin number idea or the code word idea is great, but it is too much on the side of the escorts. Of course I want the escorts to be protected in as much as possible too, but, any review system has to err on the side of the punter.

But maybe you could make the code word idea work from the other side. It would mean more work for the EI staff though and the review system would slow down. And you also might lose those reviewers who only ever visit one lady and want to write their opinion of her.

But maybe it might work, combined with the fact that every review has to be done inside a week like Magicman said. Instead of asking the escort for the code word, ask PAtricia or Sarah. The reviewer has to write a time and place and escort He was with and send it to the EI admins, they send back a code for him to write a review. The EI admins don't have to checkup on each one, just random checks or checks of first time reviewers. It sounds like what's there already, but it just adds an extra step which might give put a few of the false reviewers off.

Hmmm, after reading it doesn't sound great, maybe you all can add to it!!

I quote from Reaper ............. "Of course I want the escorts to be protected in as much as possible too, but, any review system has to err on the side of the punter".

Reaper................I don't think that a review system of escorts, if it errs, should err on the side of the punter if anything it should err on the side of the escort as it is after all her means of making a living.

No review system will ever be perfect but it can be made more difficult or less profitable to abuse the system. There are many reviewers here who contribute honestly to the system in place at the moment and I doubt that any of these punters would have any problems with the suggestions I put forward on page one of this tread.

Those who I expect will have a problem would be those who post many reviews for the same escort, either well meaning or at her behest and on her behalf. Others would be first time reviewers who wish to promote some new girl. Ever notice how many new girls get a first time reviewer?

As you mentioned in one of your posts what is to prevent someone who is banned from getting a new email address and starting off all over again...............well the simple answer to that is ........nothing. BUT he will have to wait that three months and have five reviews before his word is accepted and his reviews are "verified". This would be more trouble for pimps, toublemakers and those who twart the system, than it would be worth while doing.

It would be a case of the penalities for abusing the review system would be by far
in excess of the advantages of so doing and would hopefully reduce the numbers resorting to sending in fake reports and reviews.

Pin numbers and code words ..................complicating a simple operation.

A simple approach enforced strictly by administration will have the required effect of ensuring that most all of the reviews we read will in the future be genuine.

I look forward to hearing from Pat or Sarah as regards my suggestions. I am sure that there would be certain practical and technological problems for them in enforcing all the suggestions but if they get back to me I might be able to iron out any hitches that would be encountered.

They do great work and need our support......................remember the review section of E-I is just a small part of the overall operation and mustn't be allowed to swallow up all their valuable time in monitoring it.

    Cheers,
    Magicman
