I haven't spoken to enough escorts to know how good their English is on average, but I think it's all too often assumed that non-Irish escorts are mostly from very poor countries and that this is one driving force into prostitution.
On reflection though, how true is this? I think there's a misconception among Irish people that anywhere in Eastern Europe is poor. Granted, most of them are poorer than Ireland in terms of GDP, but they're not third-world countries.
Most of the non-irish escort profiles I've looked at say they're from:
Romania(58)
Poland(47)
Latvia(50)
Czech(35)
Brazil(75)
Colombia(84)
Italy(25)
Uk(22)
Apart from Colombia, all those countries rank in the top half of the world in terms of GDP per capita, out of 181 countries (source world bank-I've put their rankings in brackets)
Admittedly, GDP doesn't tell anything about economic equality within countries, but it gives some idea.
Perhaps the list above is not representative? What do you think -is it a mythical assumption that the average escort is from a very poor country? And even if she was, does that mean its a driving force?
