I believe all healthy well balanced people male or female are hardwired to be in a loving relationship and sex is a part of that, otherwise the human race would never have got off the ground and we would have all died out on the savannah.
When a partner is hard to if not impossible to find then men are driven by this part of their humanity to meet someone to replace that need even if only for a short time.
