Where I do agree with some of the points you have made Lillian, I don't think it is fair to lay it on Rachel's shoulders. Adrian came up with the figure of 3000 and Rachel had tried to play it down with saying she only saw a couple of people a day and sometimes none at all. In hindsight it might have been better to just say, that the money was not relevant to the conversation or not up for discussion, but when you are put on the spot?

Also it was the lady who came on talking about tax and claiming, so again Rachel did not bring it up, but reacted to the question. Possibly again, it might have been better to say nothing, as there does seem to be some confusion between what is legal and what isn't, but it's a difficult situation, which would be hard for anyone to give an answer to that would appease everyone.

I also think that if Adrian had been a little more helpful, instead of putting words in Rachel's mouth and allowing others to slam her and quite frankly verbally abuse her, it may not have come across in the same way. I only hope that anyone listening would have been appalled at how the callers behaved and take note that Rachel didn't lower herself to their standards once.

I love the way that people can't cope with the idea of someone actually enjoying this work. It's like only acceptable if you are poverty stricken and feeding a thousand children, or drug dependent etc, but because you enjoy it? You can't be saved, therefore you're scum!!! Mad!!!

In conclusion, I doubt anyone would have come away unscathed by that particular radio show, as Adrian was bias against and not keeping order with the callers.

I think you were right the first time. No one would. Even if you know all the answers beforehand, being put on the spot can make you say things the wrong way round and be misconstrued. Why do you think so many actors have their interviews done in advance and not live?

With regards to tax. If you stay the majority of the year in Ireland, then you are subject to Ireland taxation. It would do no harm to look on their website and read up on the rules, so you know where you stand. Having your money in the bank puts you at risk and you could find yourself with a huge fine.
