Question for the UK ladies

I've been over here in the UK for a while now and was noticing on a lot of the ladies ads online that more than a few say that they won't see blacks!
What's that all about?
I know that the ladies are perfectly entitled to choose who they want to see but it seems to me to be a very broad generalisation.
Any thoughts?

Bluefan1, she has heard no stories like that from me, as that has not been my experience in the main. Plus, why would I bother to go over to Ireland if that was my opinion? Also, if you read my post again, you will see that my personal opinion and experience is different to hers and I do not EVER turn someone down based on their colour or ethnicity, as much as their attitude, which is why the phone conversation is so important to me.

The problem is with the lady I know, is that she has encountered a lot of bad eggs and the smell for her became unbearable. Now, considering the fact that she lives in a predominantly Asian community, I imagine she has reduced her ability to work greatly, but this is her choice and the way she wants to work. She may suffer for it financially, but when you work from home and have children, as she does, you can not have people turning up at all hours, demanding to see you, because they see you as worthless and their for their pleasure only. Yes another story of hers.

I think sometimes you have to respect the decision and hope that it is based on a reasonable reason and not just racism. After all, let's not forget, racism is a two way thing.

What we ladies are doing is a rudimentary form of profiling ... potential offender profiling.

Without naming any race in particular, there is one race, easily identified by their accent to whom my response now as soon as they phone is "I'm fully booked."

I don't see the point in getting to the point in the conversation where they tell me that at my age, I should be charging less.

I know when any other race phones me, they;ve done so because they have high expectations in terms of my age and experience. Not less.

Whenever I pick the phone, hear this particular accent, and allow the call to continue, I find myself regretting.

This offender profiling is not an exact science. Because for every 9 rude members of this particular group, I've had the pleasure of absolute gentlemen from this same race who've challenged the stereotype with their good manners.

But for my peace of mind, I have low expectations of this group and am likely to treat them with less consideration than I would other callers.

Just looking at this now..I wasn't calling anyone a racist or anything like that I was just saying I found it odd that these things were said on the adverts
Because you don't see it at home thats all
Like imagine an ad on EI saying everyone welcome except people from tallaght!
