No, but seriously, if anybody out there has any of the old Irish money you would make a little girl very happy...
JC, I don't think only old Irish money makes a girl happy!! I'm sure Nikole like new notes too!!

You mention she likes collecting old stuff!! That's you sorted so!

those bank notes were withdrawn in the late seventies to this

this was a bit less attractive, indicating the effect of inflation on the quality of punt you could expect from your punt.

The pound note was replaced by a coin in 1990

The next set of bank notes were introduced in the mid 1990s, however with the change in laws and public morals at the time the currency board being more prudish wanted to move away from the punting imagary in their notes put a nun on them in stead

then came the euro in 2002, with those windows and bridges, clearly bring back the prostitution theme to our bank notes, clearly influenced by European culture windows representing the great city of Amsterdam, and bridges where ladies of the night wait for their prospective clients.

I remember when we switched to the Euro we couldn't have gotten rid of our old Punts fast enough.
Always wiser after the event but sorry that I didn't hold onto a few now for sentimental value if nothing
else.I will keep an eye out to see if I can get one.

LOL by the end of the week Nikole will be asking people to stop bringing punt notes to her - she will have received so many.
    Seek and you shall find!

The central bank issued this when we got rid of the note and went to coin, it's an uncirculated 1989 note which was the last run and a proof 1990 coin. As far as I know they're still available from their website.

If you're wondering who the foxy red head is, it's Queen Madb, the same girl that's on the note although she doesn't look so hot on the note

I think our old irish coins were the nicest coins in the world.

    decimal coins

    pre-decimal coins

even the harp on the back of our euro coins is much nicer than the emblems from euros of other countries
