Unfortunately the stupid irish authorities is looking seriously at the swedish model as the way to go for the law here , but , all the same , men have " needs " no matter what their status in life.

Sweden is liberal? Haha. Compared to Ireland perhaps yes. Compared to Denmark, no...

Also, I am not sure what the story here is. Someone gets caught with his pants down. So what? The politicians implemented this law, not the prosecutors. He could have been doing this all his life and been against the law from the get go. He got caught, someone else got caught before him, someone else will after him. Someone else will step up and get his job and speed or drink drive or something else. A nothing story.
Empty vessels makes the most noise.

    200+ not out.

I remember when we were joining what was then called "the Common Market" now known as (the EU) back in 1973, there was a programme on TV warning of the liberal sex laws, and prostitution in the Countries that were already there, and they were pointing out how we were going to be corrupted by association with these Countries.
I distinctely remember Sweden being mentioned as being a very liberal Country in relation to girlie magizines, pornography and every other aspect of selling Sex and sexual material.
What has happened in the meantime i do not know.
But what happened to the prosecuter in Sweden only highlights what can happen here if the present proposed leglisation goes through.
Marriages and families destroyed, embarressment, court appearences with huge medie interest and suicide.
Just because two consenting adults want to meet for whatever reason in the privacy of a home, hotel room or apartment.
Sad really that a broke Country has nothing better to be doing with their time, and whatever bit of tax revenue they are collecting from its hard pressed citizens,

Having said that the reality is that Joe Blogs in Sweden isn't losing any sleep over it at all. So far not one person has gone to prison for it and the fines are relatively minimal. The majority of men prosecuted have not gone to court, because they pleaded guilty and the ones that did go to court got small fines, although I'm not sure how much media exposure they had.

During a survey asking men how they felt about the crimanilsation law one of them likened it to a speeding fine, saying that everyone knows it is illegal, but still they speed. You hope that you won't get caught, but if you do, it was a risk worth taking.
