A lot of people seem to think that the swedish model only targets the clients, it does not. Their stance is completely anti-prostitution.

The potential for sex workers to be targeted is still there if they operate together.

Under the Swedish model, escorts are discouraged from operating together because of third party prostitution related offenses.

To support prostitution in any way is prohibited by the Swedish law. The escorts do not have the right (under that law) to support each other by for example operating together. Because it would be potentially considered that they are both exploiting and promoting one another, therefore its a potential criminal offense for one or both of them.

That swedish law: A person who promotes or improperly financially exploits a person’s engagement in casual sexual relations in return for payment shall be sentenced for procuring

Note the part "Promote" (e.g.) the potential is there for one escort (say the escort who paid the accomodation ) to be seen to be promoting the prostitution activity of another escort, therefore the escort who paid for accomodation, could potentially be sentenced for procuring under the swedish law. The swedes really have made it out to be all about criminalising the client, but thats inaccurate, because it also potentially criminalises landlords or an escort who operates with another escort.

The Swedish model still makes the potential to criminalise escorts who operate together.

Also, ignore some of the clowns on the Justice Committee, they have no idea what the swedish model really is. They are poorly researched in general.

Bacik for one is poorly researched, she is a misinformed ignorant feminist, she is supposed to be a barrister and yet she seems to have little understanding about prostitution law in Ireland and the prostitution law in sweden. She does not look at the law in an objective way, therefore her bias makes her unknowledgeable about prostitution laws. Seriously they call her a barrister? She is only example though of which there are many, the committee are not well read and are very badly researched as a rule. That can be easily seen from what they say, they don't have a full and thorough understanding of the swedish prostitution laws.
