Why do computers play up when you actually have something worth reading and contributing to? I listened to the whole show and thought it was brilliant. Lots of of good points made, despite Joan, who actually did us more good than harm, by coming across as the least educated person there without real reason for any of her opinions. Getting personal to score points is not playing cricket!!!
Well done Amber for keeping calm and keeping to the point as best you could and the to all the ladies that actually got through on the phone. The support and respect amongst you was very obvious and you all came across really well. Excellent!

I listened to the full debate with great interest. Congratulations to the girls who took part. You have some patience!
I too had a call from a producer to take part. I really really wanted to but had to decline as I feared I would be recognised by family and friends.
The reality of dealing with someone like the Joan who was on programme is that she has very strong opinions which she will defend beyond logic and intelligence. You cannot argue with someone who is not open to the possibility of having their opinion changed through clear and reasonable debate.
"I'm right, and thats the end if it" syndrome!
She reminds me of my late mother who was raised in a time when the Catholic church was ALWAYS RIGHT. Even the slightest hint of contradicting the church was outrageous to her. To challenge her beliefs was an attack on herself. Even when the sex and abuse scandals came to light, she said these people were making it up. Eventually she saw the light and it nearly broke her.
People like Joan CANNOT ACCEPT that paying for sex is right. Arguing with her has no impact because she is not open to reasonable debate. She is typical of those who want to turn the red light off.
Her constant attempts to personalise the debate and to control the direction of the debate were very frustrating. My only regret about the programme is that this Joan received so much air time and kept taking the discussion away from the question. Although leaving her on so long did nothing for her cause!
I thought all the pro escort callers spoke with dignity and made their arguments in a reasonable and polite manner. Well done John for getting involved! That Ronan guy was trying to say escorts break up marriages. The fact that a married guy is looking for an "Away game" in the first place would indicate that the marriage may be in trouble long before an escort is involved. Mistresses and affairs break up marriages not escorts.
Well done again to all involved in the programme. I am just sorry I wasn't in a position to help.

You came across exceptionally well from here...the only thing that went unanswered and was setting my teeth on edge was that frightful ould wan going on as if nothing else (including, but not limited to, qualifications and survival) was important in a woman's life besides the overpowering significance of...
WAIT FOR IT...
Her MARRIAGE prospects...
Some of her questions were revoltingly intrusive and I was cringing for being of (nominally) the same gender and species as her.
