Had no internet so far. I have been reading the thread though, from another phone, couldnt log in as I dont know the password.
    Now,lets see.

I was going to the committee meeting. All the time I had that in mind. Spoke to LBT by pm day before yesterday, soo many pms etc, lot of info and support from her. Had about a day to assimilate all the info plus , keep my mind in cold and not get nervous and block ...

She said something about the media indeed. Also, I knew I was on the list to assist the conference, also, I knew I couldnt talk ..

Left Belfast early in the morning, got lost a few times , my car drinks petrol , stopped at a petrol station, got petrol and a top up, rang LBT to tell her I am on my way.

Left the car somewhere in Dublin where I didnt have to pay parking , rang LBT , she told me TV3 wants to talk to us .. WTF!!! I was okayyyy... I didnt know in what conditions they wanna do it.. Soo many things crossed my mind at that time ..

Because of the nerves , I was on the phone with Sam Thanks for listen lol

Got a taxi and arrived to the place TV3 was suppose to be .. LBT was there and fuck yes I was nervous ..

The ladies were very nice , chatty , we start doing the interview and all the time I was getting a bit nervous, I was thinking to calm down in seconds because I can do it well, I am well able to put my point across in front of a camera as I do it here... Of course, this is way much easier, nobody is watching me lol

My first time to be on the camera and hell ... to speak about something soo important is just ... I dont know.. Unreal???!!!

We went on the street for some shots .. In any moment I asked my ass to be on the camera, the lady did her job the best way she knows ...

Also, the piece of paper "Sex workers can speak for themselves" was LBT s idea and she print it .. brilliant.. Now, stay with that paper in front of people, watching and reading what you are on about .. ha! Jezzzzzzzz ... something I never done before

As many of you , would not go on the camera because ye have family, dont forget I have one as well and here in Ireland, that do not know what I do for a living ..

About how I was dressed .. Casual, normal ... or perhaps I should ve went on a mini shirt and lots of make up like a real prostitute Btw, not even when I work I put the make up on many times .. Natural beauty as I call it

I dont expect people to go crazy about me, if I did this is because I wanted to and I have no gain, other than be happy for myself ..

Nobody called me to represent independent escorts, or escorts, in general ... Went there to speak for myself , own experiences and what I have seen, which is I never came across with a person coerced into prostitution, true!! Clients are not rapists and also is it true !! Swedish model failed and I ask why Ireland should follow it. Simple ...

Keep the criticism up, love it bitches

Lillian as far as I can see is referring to public perception. The media manipulate.. and to show lower body images of the ladies whilst walking was, in my opinion putting a subliminal 'streetwalker' image out there. Highly unfair! But that's how the media work. They would have found it more difficult to portray that image had the ladies been dressed in suits. You have to be a step ahead of the media!
We have street workers in Ireland as well, part of the sex trade, dont forget. Those escorts you want in front of the camera , in nice Versace dress , Gucci bag and D&G sun glasses , are not charging Gucci rates nor some opt for not explicit reviews.

On a tv show , I agree with a nice dress, make up etc .. on the street, in cold and rain, walking as a normal person, dressed as one, makes more difference and people will see me as one person more, not a prostitute.

How many ladies go to the shop in fancy shoes and tight jeans?! Every single person know what her work is, by looking at her.

A personal issue has nothing to do with the fact that I dont see Rachel as somebody who can represent Escorts in this subject sufficiantly and believe me I am not the only one with that opinion . I am just the only one dumb enough to write it here and to get slaughtered for it .
I watched mine, looking forward to see yours ..

Do you want to teach me how to dress , maybe we should go shopping together babe

Didn't get a chance to watch Vinny, didn't want to raise suspicion with the missus!! But i gather from reading the the thread, that it wasn't shown and was bumped for something more important, their opinion not mine!!!
Does anyone know if it will be shown at a later date or was the girls effort's all in vain? Keep up the great work girls, and keep the faith

Well done Rachel and Labelle!! That took serious courage and conviction! Well done and thank you so very much!

I only got to watch the TV3 news snipet now (and still can't find the bit on Tonight with V.B.) - and you were fabulous! Not sure what else you got to say but at least the news snipet included the main pertinent points!

Lets watch this space regarding what the committee decides now with regard to blocking escorts voicing their views to them.

Please note, I don't have a problem with what you wore and I do admire you both for what you did and I would have joined you if I had been in Ireland, so my next comment is purely to put a balance on what Heather was saying and not to be critical.

Heather meant normal formal office working clothes. It could have been a trouser suit, but a suit may have given a more neutral impression and something many women could relate to and others aspire to. The media were attempting to stereo type you and where you were there to represent all types of working girl, ie, street walker and Independent. In that way they only actually allowed representation of the street worker.

I know for a fact that when you work you do not do tacky. This is not what anyone would expect from you as a person or a working girl. No one would expect you to dress any other way than who you are or neutrally. Think of the suit as wearing a paper bag. There is little offensive about it and therefore hard to criticize it. It also has the stereotype of belonging to the middle classes and women who are educated and professional, which many of us are.

It is a shame that no one else came forward. You are doing a good job of representing yourself and you do say things that matter when interviewed, that can help us all. If more girls turned up, then we could get more points across and stop focusing on less important things. The fact is you turned up, you said your piece and you and LBT gave us air time we would not have had otherwise and that has to be commended.

Kate, do you read what I post here, by any chance?

I said I had no idea about TV3 being there and what will happen .. nor how long I will be in front of the Gov building, if I am going in or stay out, if I will talk or not etc etc ...

Who was giving out to me about the dress I wore at the first conference? Now, is the trousers ... Tomorrow will be my make up .. ffs!!

I will dress up as I want, I will say what I want, I represent myself and anyone who feels the same as i do regarding sex industry. Period!

    Is done! Move on ...
