Yeap and the comparison in question is deeply flawed as the US and Russia are incomparable as Putin presided over more than a decade of human rights abuses, omnipresent corruption, cronyism and a failure to diversify the economy all fuelled by the rising oil/gas prices. The state media also feeds copious amounts of propaganda to the "have nots" who grew accustomed to the lies they are constantly being told and do little to dig out the truth while the opposition largely does not control the mainstream media and is therefore alien to the aforementioned "have nots" which is now compared to the situation in the US...
