    Default Womens relationship with alcohol

Womens relationship with alcohol is becoming an issue of grave concern, in Ireland now 50% of all alcohol is consumed
at home, another startling figure is that 20 yrs ago 7% of alcohol was consumed in the form of wine that has now
increased almost quadrupled to 27% and wine while now having more male drinkers here, would still be a predominately
female drink (especially when not consumed with food).
Clinics dealing with alcohol abuse report that wheras in the past there was only one woman for every 2 to 3 men
being treated this has now risen to a scenario where its 50% of each and at times with women exceeding men in the
    clinics.
Many women see wine as the healthy option drink wise but a bottle of wine calorie wise is equal to 2 bars of chocolate
or a burger and chip and also a half bottle of wine a day consumed raises the risk of breast cancer by 41%.
The myth that women can handle alcohol as well as men is just that a myth, a womans metabolism handles alcohol
totally differently to a mans, for one example women have more fat than men and this leads to less alcohol being
diluted within the system also women develop alcohol related problems much more quickly and much more severly
    than men.
So ladies be careful with the vino
    Blatant promotion should be outlawed

Check out this calorie calculator for alcohol consumption:

It is shocking, and one reason I stopped drinking a while ago.

their brains handle it differently too. Yet another woman will throw a burger at you late at night. I wonder if it had horsemeat in it?

That is quite funny. Women are now drinking as much as men and the advice is... careful of the calories!!!! Ber you do make me chuckle.

I think it is a sign of the times. We are shouldering equal if not more financial burden than men now and when you're tired, overworked and stressed it is easy to reach for the bottle. Personally I have never been a binge drinker or someone who drinks every day, but I do like to have a glass of red or a vodka and red bull now and again. Cider is quite nice in the Summer too, but this tends to be a treat rather than the norm.

We all need to be careful not to over do it with alcohol, it's no longer a gender thing, it's a human thing.

Im looking at this a totally different way, alcohol has wrecked and destroyed so many lives and familys and in the past this was
mainly due to Males drinking habits. I have seen in my family (luckily enough extended family ) the havoc alcohol has wreaked
    resulting in actual deaths.
Now im all for equality , but in the good things and to see that women see,
that abusing there bodies with alcohol the same way as men have done for years makes them equal to men is not a good thing quite the opposite in fact.
I really think women shouldnt strive for that sort of equality.
The point i was making is that many men already drink entirely to excess and now the women have caught up and that is not a postive thing.
A drink in moderation is an entirely different issue

Unfortunately I see it in my own home, and its soul destroying. Watching your partner getting slowly wasted in front of your eyes is lonely and sad. Despite telling her how its affecting our relationship she dosent seem to care and when I hear the glug glup of wine or ice cubes hitting the glass I just despair.

Look for the cause my darling ber. Why are women drinking more? Why was it that men drank so much? I never said it was positive, but what I gave was good reason for it. Think of all those single parent women out there, that are coping with young children, unable to find work, or get off the dole. Think of the women out there that were married, then found themselves divorced, trying to keep the family together and work and no one to reach out to. Think of the single women that are not able to get a decent home, because their wages just won't stretch to it, or they're staying with the partner from hell, because they can't see any alternative.

Then of course all us Escorts drink ourselves silly to deaden the horrible experience of having to have sex with men in beige rain macs. Everyone knows that we're all alcoholics.

*please note, no men wearing beige macs were harmed in anyway, while seeing drunk Escorts. Please accept my apology if you are an owner of a beige mac. Pretend I said blue instead.

I am well aware of the many and complex causes around this issue, but it was not my intention to pass comment on those i
was merely trying to hi light how alcohol has become a serious issue for women.
Just go back say 30 yrs ago if a household had a drink problem the chances are it was the husband going to the pub drinking
the earnings and letting a wife at home trying to look after the kids and deal with the fallout from his drinking.
Nowdays it could be either partner and while this may seem a sexist thing to say i fully believe that if the female partner in a
relationship is the one with the dependency problem and there are children in that relationship they will suffer more than if it
was the male with the problem. In the majority of families around the country the female is still the key person in the stability
    of that family.
PS I will probably hung drawn and quartered for saying this
