I have been using electric toothbrushes for the last 17 years. However long I keep going with a manual brush, I never feel my teeth are as clean as they are when I brush with electric. Sometimes I have to travel on business and I rarely pack an electric toothbrush then so I still get comparisons and I am always dissatisfied with a manual brush. Best of the electric brushes are the ones where you get two sets of bristles that have different movements. They really get the teeth clean.

An important consideration for this community is bleeding gums and kissing. I find that, if I brush with a manual brush I end up with visible blood in my saliva even though my teeth are not as clean as when I use the electric brush. Of course, I know that there may still be tiny amounts of bleeding even if I do not see blood so, with my electric brush, I will clean my teeth no less than four hours before an appointment and after that time only water and mouthwash will pass my lips.
