i love the books and love the movies..
im looking forward to the hobbit coming out soon..
jrr tolkien had some mind to write such a fantastic story and in such detail similar to the babe who wrote harry potter a fantastic mind to think up such an idea..

You're looking waaaaaaayy too much into it, it is, at the end of the day, only a film, a form of entertainment.

I enjoy fantasy and science fiction, as well as history, biographies and current affairs. Each has their own benefits and uses, and the snobbery that some people show is both pointless and offensive.

The comic book character significance of that was lost on me. I wouldn't call her real namesake fictional however, as she can be found from Nenagh to Parkgate Street to Inns Quay to Old Bailey Street
In terms of reading, I have very little interest in fantasy certainly, but everyone is welcome to their own. I was really just aroused to start this thread as references are frequently made to LOTR by others but I don't have the advantage of understanding them.
